Why it's worth getting cat insurance

Luke Mallion, our in house vet, seated.

"Once in a while, your cat may come home with an unexpected injury or illness that needs vet attention. Vet bills can mount up, but cat insurance can help you cover costs and provide peace of mind."
Luke Mangion, MORE THAN vet.

Choose from our 3 cover levels

Experts rate our Premier insurance

Defaqto** has awarded our pet insurance a 5 Star Rating. Proving that we offer one of the highest quality options available for your furry friend.

15% discount for additional cats

If you have more than one cat at home, you could save time and money by insuring them on the same policy. With our multi-pet policy you'll receive a 15% discount for each cat you insure

We don't offer cover for general dental hygiene and care. Cover for teeth and gums that are damaged in an accident is included in all three of our cover levels.

You can still get pet insurance with MORE THAN, but it will not cover pre-existing conditions. These are health issues, concerns, illnesses and injuries which have developed or are showing signs of developing which you or your vet were aware of before you took out the policy.

Yes - we have no upper age limit on the cats we insure.

Yes, you can insure multiple cats with our multi-pet option. You can insure as many as 5 cats on one policy online or up to 10 cats through our call centre. For each cat (or dog) you add, you will receive a 15% discount. The discount is applied automatically.

No - unfortunately, we are unable to insure breeders.

When buying a pet insurance policy, you might qualify for more than one of our discounts. You do not need to do anything; we will apply any discounts from your final quote automatically.

Consecutively means we will apply the discounts one at a time.

Your cat is unique, which is why we give personalised quotes depending on your cat and their needs. There are a few things that will impact the cost of your insurance:

  • Age: This is because older cats are more likely to experience health problems
  • Breed: Pedigree cats can be more expensive to insure and some breeds can be more prone to illnesses. This can impact the cost of your cat insurance
  • Cover: MORE THAN cat insurance offers 3 different cover level options to choose from. The cost of each option can vary due to the level of cover given
  • Claims: Cats are naturally adventurous creatures. Sometimes their adventures can lead to injury or illness. If you need to make a claim on your cat insurance to help towards vet fees, your renewal price may increase as a result
  • Location: Where you live can affect how much you pay for vet fees. Generally, fees are higher in towns and cities compared to rural areas

Indoor cats can still have accidents or develop illnesses. Without insurance you would need to pay vet bills, which can add up to high amounts. At MORE THAN, we have 3 levels of cover to choose from for your cat or kitten.

Important information

Your renewal price may increase each year, and your co-insurance amount will be applied at the renewal following your pets 9th birthday. If a claim is paid, the price you will pay next year can double. There is no limit to how much your reneweal price can increase.

** Our Defaqto Rating applies to Premier £1,000, £2,000, £4,000 and £6,000, and Classic £8,000
