  • If an underlying illness causes tooth decay or gum disease
  • To remove teeth to treat an illness that is not gumdisease or tooth decay

More about our cover levels

Basic

Also known as Time Limited. Our Basic policy provides cover for each new accident or illness within a defined period. This will be for 12 months from either the first clinical signs or first treatment until the vet fee limit is reached whichever happens first.

Classic

Also known as Maximum Benefit, our Classic policy provides cover for vet fees up to your chosen vet fee limit for each new accident or illness. There is no time limit in which you can use your vet fee limit.

Premier

Also known as Lifetime cover, our Premier policy provides cover for vet fees up to your chosen vet fee for each new accident or illness each year. As long as you renew your policy with no break in cover, the vet fee limit is reinstated each year.

Premier policies bought before 20 March 2022

If you took out a pet insurance policy with us before 20 March 2022, different limits may apply.

More details on the vet fees limits that apply to your policy can be found in your schedule, or on your policy documents. If you're unsure, get in touch.

You can buy multi-pet insurance, but we will not cover pre-existing conditions though other insurers may cover them. These are health issues, concerns, illnesses or injuries that have developed or are showing signs of developing, which you or your vet were aware of before you buy a policy.

No. If you have more than one pet at home, our multi-pet insurance can cover them under one policy. We can't cover your other pets that have feathers, scales, or manes. Our multi-pet insurance is for cats and dogs only.

Because your pets are unique, we will give you a personal price for your multi-pet insurance. A few key things that will affect the cost of your insurance are your pets:

  • Vets: The cost of vet fees will affect your multi-pet insurance costs
  • Age: It happens to the best of us. As your pets age, your multi-pet insurance cost will increase because they are more likely to get ill
  • Breed: The size and health of your pets will cause the amount you pay to vary
  • Claims: A claim being paid can also cause your renewal price to increase
